Day 1: Rishikesh to Sari Village

Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Rishikesh to Sari Village. En route, pass through Devprayag, the sacred confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers.

Enjoy short stops for meals (at your own expense) while taking in the beautiful mountain views. Upon arrival, check into your guesthouse and relax. You can explore the peaceful surroundings of Sari village in the evening.


Day 2: Sari Village to Baniyakund

After breakfast, drive towards Baniyakund, a scenic meadow near Chopta surrounded by forests and open landscapes.

Day 3: Baniyakund to Chopta – Trek to Tungnath & Chandrashila – Return

This is the summit day of the Chopta Chandrashila Tungnath Trek. Start early and drive to Chopta, the base point of the trek.

Begin your trek towards Tungnath via a well-defined trail through meadows and forest sections. Tungnath is the highest Shiva temple in the world and holds great spiritual importance.

From Tungnath, continue towards Chandrashila Summit. The final stretch is steep but rewarding. At the summit, enjoy breathtaking 360° views of Himalayan peaks like Nanda Devi, Trishul, Chaukhamba, and Kedar Dome.

After spending time at the summit, descend back to Chopta and return to Baniyakund for rest.


Day 4: Drive from Baniyakund to Rishikesh

Drive Distance: ~200 km | 7–9 hrs

After breakfast, begin your return journey to Rishikesh. Enjoy the scenic drive through the Garhwal region.

You will be dropped near Tapovan, Rishikesh, from where you can plan your onward travel.

  • Ability to cover ~5 km in 35–40 minutes or ~10 km in 75–90 minutes without excessive strain
  • Alternatively, ability to cycle ~10 km in 30–40 minutes
  • Should be comfortable carrying a light backpack (3–5 kg) during the trek
  • If carrying personal gear, ability to manage up to 8–10 kg is beneficial
